TriathlonSkills Mindful Swim Training Camp

Wednesday, March 6th  – Monday, March 11th,  2019

I just love this place! The National Training Center in Clermont, Florida, the home of my first Ironman! I also love bringing all of you with me to share it, enjoy it. The camp will focus on the three areas most swimmers report that they feel challenged by: the kick, the catch, and breathing.

Join me as we gather to share a love of swimming, learning, training body and mind. My aim is to make this a well rounded training camp for fitness swimmers, swimmers, and triathletes by adding in dry land strength, balance work, stretching, and mind training along with the daily swims. This camp is a mix of pool swims at the National Training Center, and open water swims in the lake at Water Front Park. You will improve your technique, work core muscles needed for swimming and a strong two beat kick, understand the catch shape, all to gain more balance and speed when in the water.

Oh, and my favorite is the field trip!  A long swim in The Rainbow River! We will go with the flow of the river for 3 miles in this point to point swim. This river is amazing, clear, warm and gentle you will think you are in the Caribbean! The water is clear, see the photo, and spring fed. Amazing!

Where: National Training Center, 1135 Don Wickham Dr, Clermont,  Florida, 34711 (about 30 miles west of Orlando airport).
Who: Swimmers, Triathletes, Fitness Swimmers who are comfy in the water, want to improve, feel stronger, improve their awareness, learn, and have fun!
*Sorry, but this is not a camp for swimmers who are fearful or uncomfortable in the water.
:$995 before February 17, 2019. After February 18, 2019, $1199. Save cash, sign-up early!

Lodging options:
There are hotels, airbnb, HomeAway, etc options. Some in walking distance to the pool.
Lake Mineola:
Open water practice will be at Lake Minneola at the public beach at Water Front Park. The lake is about 3 miles from the pool. There is a changing facility at the lake, do bring a wetsuit as it can be windy and chilly this time of year.
*Please, plan to stay for the entire camp. Stay for all of Monday, if you can, to wrap things up. This day is key, what to do next after camp ends.
*Book early since this is considered Disney territory. The airport can be busy, car rental can take time, or taxi/shuttle to Clermont is about $50 and a 50 minute ride.
*There is a bike path nearby. You can bike, run, walk on the path and roads from the hotel, or lake. You can rent a bike at a shop near the pool. Or bring your own bike!
* The National Training Center is a nice facility. For a drop in fee you can use the club. The weight room, spin bikes, take a class, cardio equipment. Continue your training!
*The NTC provides towels for your use.
*You may want to bring a lock to lock your belongings in the locker room. If not, bring your gear out onto the pool deck.
*Bring your own Yoga mat, please.
