Shaping the freestyle catch arm can be a real challenge. I created this step when working with the kids to keep them from paddling their arms when swimming freestyle, especially when they moved to take the breath. Kids love and need simple steps. But so do adults!
Feel the pressure created on the arms, and the subtle back and forth movement created when you move with slow, steady, consistent, even pressure. Gradually integrate it into your whole stroke.
