Maho Bay, U.S. Virgin Islands

Celeste St. Pierre joined Terry Laughlin, founder of Total Immersion swim technique, to host an open water, all-women, swim experience at Maho Bay, Virgin Islands in January, 2010.

Maho Bay is known for its warm, calm, sheltered bays, which seldom experience wave action. The water is shallow and the bottom mostly sandy. The purpose of this camp was to introduce pool swimmers to open water, whether to prepare for a first triathlon or to gain the comfort and confidence to enjoy vacations at the shore more fully.
