Easy Breathing, Create a Bow Wave

image

Notice the wave in front of the head and the opening it creates around the face. Plenty of air there!

Keep the head in line with the spine, torso, horizontal to the water. By keeping the head low, aligned, and rolling the head up with the hip, the head acts like a plow.As the water goes around the head, a space opens up near the face. This is the bow wave, the pocket, the opening, to get a sip of air. Use the lead arm under the water to keep lengthening forward. Imagine the head is following the direction of that arm.

Now practice, practice, practice!!!
